Short Courses

An organization benefits from staff training when the staff has acquired the necessary knowledge and skill that generate the required improvement in performance.

Our courses are designed to reflect the current training needs of managers and supervisors at various levels in present-day, results-oriented organizations. The programmes address contemporary issues in public and private entities as well as development and community-oriented units. These programmes cover the following areas:

Methodology

Training that can bring about change in the staff is not just ‘any ordinary training’. It requires precision in delivery and the use of a well-designed training methodology”

The IDCA training approach is based on adult learning principles. It encourages learner autonomy and empowerment in that individuals and groups are given assignments, exercises and learning experiences which involve problem solving and self-direction. Most of the time, the learning is holistic, using all the senses of sight, hearing, touch, thought, creativity and intuition, leading to a deeper, longer-lasting, achieve mentoriented learning. The result is that the IDCA learning environment becomes a source of intellectual challenges, self-propellant, discipline and fun.

Plenary Sessions

These have been planned to cover core topics. These sessions will examine issues which are considered to be relevant and useful to all participants. The sessions will provide a general background and introduction to some of the recent theories and main subject areas.

Integrative Exercises

The use of integrative exercises is one another means applied for ensuring that the various skills learnt, information received and participants’ experiences are drawn upon and put into practical use. These exercises are designed to reinforce and internalize knowledge acquired on the course.

Group Work

Much of the learning will occur through small groups working on assignments. Even during the plenary sessions, participants will be split into small task groups to interact and draw on each other’s experience more effectively.

Audio Visuals

Training videos and other suitable multi-media means will be used selectively on some modules as a way of reinforcing what is presented during plenary sessions.

Tailored Courses

Tailor made courses are available on request. We usually require a minimum of two weeks to develop and run such courses. For any special cases, IDCA will be ready to discuss and come up with the best solution for you or your organization.
